Our Mission


The mission of ASWA is to enable women in all accounting and related fields to achieve their full personal, professional and economic potential and to contribute to the future development of their profession. Empowering women in the accounting and financial professions since 1938. The American Society of Women Accountants was organized in 1938 under the sponsorship of the American Women's Society of Certified Public Accountants for the following reasons to encourage qualified women to enter the field of accounting:


· to further the education and proficiency of its members in their profession

· to inform the public and the profession of the abilities and achievements of women in accounting

· to establish a good solidarity among women members of the accounting profession.


ASWA provides a forum for members to develop management, leadership and interpersonal skills, differentiating themselves in today’s workplace. In addition, ASWA supports today’s professional woman in achieving work/life balance by providing a network that allows members to benefit from each other’s expertise, allowing them to work smarter instead of harder. Finally, ASWA provides a network of support which enables and empowers our members to take the risks necessary to realize their full prefessional and personal potential.
